Your class's information

The short version: what you type about your class stays in your browser, on your computer.

This page is a draft. It describes how the site works today; the details of who runs primaryhub.co.uk and how to contact them still need adding before launch.

What the classroom board keeps

Where it's kept

All of this is saved in your web browser's own storage on the computer you're using. It isn't sent to us or to anyone else, and there are no accounts. It also means your board is only on that computer and in that browser: another computer, or another browser, starts empty.

Backups

In Classes on the board you can save a backup: a small file with your classes, birthdays and board, saved to your own computer (your own background picture isn't included). Load it on another computer to move your board there, or after your browser has been cleared. The file is made and read in your browser and isn't uploaded anywhere. It has your pupils' names in it, so keep it somewhere safe, as you would a class list.

The board also asks your browser to keep what it saves for good, so the browser doesn't clear it to free up space. This can't stop your browser's own "clear browsing data", and Safari (on Macs, iPhones and iPads) clears a site's storage if you haven't used it for a week, so save a backup now and then.

The noise meter

The noise meter only works if you press Start listening and allow the microphone. It measures how loud the room is as sound comes in. Nothing is recorded, kept or sent.

Fonts and other services

Everything the site needs, including its font, is served from primaryhub.co.uk itself. Pages don't load anything from Google or other outside services, and there are no adverts or tracking.

Deleting your information

Delete a class in Classes on the board, or clear this site's data in your browser's settings to remove everything.
